Hosting

Makeko has always provided hosting of clients' sites. It's a task we took on at the very start, because we were unable to find any service we were willing to endorse for our clients. Through the years we've grown a little, and now we are happy to offer hosting services even for sites we do not build or maintain.

We host standard web sites and database backed sites. We also provide a lot of different server functionalities, many of which we've developed ourselves. We don't always follow the crowd in the hardware and software we choose for our servers, but we're confident that we're providing services that at the very least meet, and in most cases (I'd say all cases if I wasn't being polite) exceed the quality of the services provided by those big guys. And we should know. We trusted our stuff to those big guys before. We just think there should be someone keeping an eye on things all of the time, not just during business hours. And we think that the people watching your site should be more concerned about it than you are. Otherwise, what's the point?

We can even lease you a server that we'll update and maintain, if that's what your company needs. Think of us as your own little IT staff, without needing to offer us vacation time or holiday bonuses.

We provide other services, too. Email and mailing lists are two of those services. We think email is pretty important. We've just introduced our SMTP-mostly service, which joins our more standard email services. Mailing lists are also really convenient, not just for discussion lists, but for simple announcement lists for your staff to send messages to each other, or for you to send a universal greeting to all of your clients.
